Francis J. Jackowski, age 66, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2016.

A native Delawarean, Frank was born in Wilmington on February 7, 1950, and was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Romanowski) Jackowski. He made his career as an accountant in the credit card industry for many years.

A man of strong faith, Frank was a longtime parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bear where he directed traffic before and after mass. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Seton Council #7990. An avid football fan, Frank enjoyed cheering on his two favorite teams each season – the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and the Philadelphia Eagles. Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather and friend to many.

Frank is survived by his wife of 28 years, Charlotte R. Jackowski; son, Christopher P. Jackowski (Amanda) of Newark; stepdaughter, Jennifer Brobst (Joseph) of Bellingham, WA; brother, Edward Jackowski of New Castle; and 5 grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday morning, December 1, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Rd., Bear, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am. Interment will be held privately in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank’s memory may be made to A.I DuPont Hospital for Children, “The Fund for Children’s Health”, Shands House, 1600 Rockland Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803 or to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read’s Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
