Mr. Francis W. Reilley, age 87, of New Castle, DE, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, with his daughter by his side.


Born in Laurelton, NJ, on July 18, 1922, Mr. Reilley was a son of the late James A. Reilley and Lillian Cole Reilley. He proudly served his country for 4 years in the US Navy. In civilian life, he made his career with the DuPont Company, retiring from the Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE, after 41 years of service.


Active in his community, Mr. Reilley was a longtime member of the New Castle Rod and Gun Club, the Lions Club, Stahl Post #30 American Legion, and the Chelsea Estates Civic Association. His many hobbies included trap shooting, bowling, golfing, saltwater fishing, and cooking. He also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and Delaware Park. Most of all, he delighted in spending time at the familys summer home in the Villas, NJ, where he hosted many wonderful get-togethers for family, friends, and neighbors.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margie Ann Reilley. He is survived by his daughter, Shawna Reilley Corsello of Newark, DE; brother, James Reilley of Penns Grove, NJ; sisters, Loretta Sparks of Clarksboro, NJ; and Lorraine Fahrner of Salem, NJ; granddaughters, Joanna Owens (Robert) and Lauren Corsello; great grandsons, Noah and Thor Owens; nieces; nephews, including special nephew, Alexander Fahrner of Salem, NJ; cousins; and special friend and loving neighbor, Dolores Roark.


A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE, where visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in White Clay Creek Cemetery, 15 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 4002018, Des Moines, IA 50340-2018. Please mark donations for The Haiti Relief Fund.
