Garrett Edward Markward

Garrett Edward Markward, age 53, of Delaware City, DE passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 24, 1960, Garrett was a son of Charles and Helen Markward. Described by his family as a man like no other, he was happiest in the company of those he loved. Garrett had an especially close relationship with his nieces and nephews, and adored them as if they were his own children.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Alex Markward, whom he was very close to. Garrett is survived by his mother, Helen; brothers, Thomas Markward (Marianne) and Charles Markward; sister, Susan Fitzwater (Paul); nephews, Paul Fitzwater, III, Thomas Markward, Jr., and Jade Hughes; nieces, Jennifer Markward, Nichole Fitzwater, and Jessica Maxwell; grandnieces, Tatiana and Aubrey; and grandnephew, Leland.
A funeral service will be held at 7 pm on Friday, November 8, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where friends may call from 5 pm until 7 pm. Interment will be private.
