George D. Schack, age 79, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.
Born in Weehawken, New Jersey, on November 2, 1938, he was a son of the late William and Lillian (Lipman) Schack. George worked at BJ’s for 17 years and loved spending time at Delaware Park.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Mason. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Barbara Dobson (Robert) of Cherryville, NC, Jo Ann Fariss (Jim) of North East, MD, Kim Cline (Rick) of Lincolnton, NC; a brother, William Schack of New Bern, NC; 3 grandchildren, Misty Holtzman, Joshua Shaffer and Cody Cline; and 1 great grandchild, Phoenix Holtzman.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 7 pm. Interment will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 12, 2018 in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

Daddy you fought a hard fight, you won the race. I’m going to miss your smiling face and those sweet kisses. I thank God that you made things right with the Lord. Now we’ll get to see you again. Thank you for always being there when we needed you. I always enjoyed your summer visits. They meant a lot to me. Love you always and forever.
