Gilbert C. Edler, age 66, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.

Born in Fort Meade, MD on June 26, 1951, a son of the late Gilbert Clyde and Margaret (Bird) Edler.   He spent his career as an excavator starting with Keating & Sons and eventually retiring from Technivate.  He was also a member of the VFW in Hockessin.

Gilbert will always be remembered for his big heart, loving personality, helping people and his funny character.  He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and crabs.  He also looked forward to a round of billiards with friends.

Gilbert is predeceased by his son Brian.  He is survived by his son, Christopher Edler of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; brother, James Edler of Dover; and long time companion, Joanne Cresto of Wilmington.
