Gladys J. “Beanie” Golt, age 72, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at her home.

Gladys was the daughter of the late William Clark and Gladys Davis. She was a dedicated worker for over 35 years at Kirk Middle School in Newark, DE. She loved her family and put them above all else. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed bingo nights, and had an obsession with Elvis Presley, Barry Mannilow and country music.

She is survived by her partner of 40 years, Les Wilhelme; her step father, Herb Davis of Polk City, FL; her siblings, Alvin Wyatt (Jean) of FL and Fran Hackman (Jim) of PA; her children, Dennis Golt, Jack Golt, Debor’Ah Heath (Tommy), all of Smyrna, DE and James Golt of Newark, DE; her grandchildren, Michael Heath Jr (Brett) of Lexington, KY, Nicole Elder (Jeremy) of Smyrna, DE, and Justin Cobb (Jillian) of Wilmington, DE; and her great-grandchildren, Shane Nelson, Michael Heath III, Aiden Heath, Kellen Elder, Brantland Elder, and Justin Cobb III; as well as many cousins and other family members. She was also the loving dog mother of Dakota and dog grandmother of Layla and Shadow. All who she loved dearly.

Friends may visit with the family from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday evening, November 6, 2015 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. Funeral services will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Gladys’ memory for Kellen Elder can be made to the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America (CASANA) at www.apraxia-kids.org.
