Glenn E. Hindt, age 84, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Wilmont, MN, on March 24, 1934, he was a son of the late Leroy and Dorthella Hindt. Glenn proudly served in the US Army. He was a general contractor for G. Hindt & Sons. Glenn enjoyed visits to Delaware Park.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis A. (Hylinksi) Hindt. Glenn is survived by his children, Robert Hindt (Stacy) of Elkton, Richard Hindt (Monica) of Bear and Sharon Schwarz (Robert) of Middletown; loving companion of over 30 years, Catherine “Kitten” Briggs and her children, Anthony and Joseph Briggs (Dominique); 10 siblings; and 14 grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be from 9 am until 11 am on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

  • Mr. Hindt will be missed by all those that have had the pleasure of meeting him. He always made me feel so welcome whenever I came for a visit. His kindness and good heart will never be forgotten. God Bless

  • Mr. Hindt will always have a special place in my heart, as he will with all the Haley’s, and every other person he suported and touched over the years. From the old neighborhood, to canal little league, to the many projects he worked on, he was a true inspiration. For some reason, they just don’t make them like that anymore, RIP sir.
