Harold D. Wilbur, age 92, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017.

Born in Scranton, PA on January 11, 1925, Harold was the son of the late Harold M. and Dorothy (Tressler) Wilbur. He was a graduate of Binghamton (NY) High School. During WWII, Harold proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, and then with the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. He retired from the DuPont Co. in 1986 after 30 years as a manufacturing representative.

Harold was a member of Elks Lodge #2281, Wilmington Manor Lion’s Club, and St. John’s Lodge # 2, AF & AM.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Kathleen (Humbert) Wilbur and his sister, Jean McMahon. Harold is survived by his sons, Peter D. Wilbur (Veronica) of Lincoln University, PA and Michael D. Wilbur (Deborah) of Bear; grandchildren, David and Samuel Wilbur, Christine Jones (Ean), and Amy Wilbur; and great granddaughter, Nikita Jones.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 until 11 am on Monday, November 27, 2017, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Castle United Methodist Church, 510 Delaware St., New Castle, DE 19720.
