Harriet Chapman Brighthaupt

Harriet Chapman Brighthaupt passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Brookdale White Chapel in Newark.
Harriet was born August 30, 1927 in Centralia, PA to the late Thomas and Florence Chapman. She married Eugene Brighthaupt and moved to Newark in 1952. Harriet enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, following politics, gardening, crocheting, her grandchildren, the Eagles and Phillies. She also enjoyed telling stories; incredible stories of Centralia’s life and characters. Harriet worked at Rhodes Drug Store on Main Street during the sixties where she was well placed to socialize with other coal region expats.
Harriet is survived by her sons, Thomas of Newark, Eugene Jr. of Newark, and Edward (Karen) of Port Deposit, MD; daughter, Mary (Jonathan Sisk) of Severna Park, MD; brother, Thomas Chapman (Peg) of Harrisburg, PA; sister, Margaret Chapman of Harrisburg, PA; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene who passed away in 1996; and brother, Edward (Mary) of Mount Carmel, PA.
