Harry E. “Eddie” Hall

Harry E. “Eddie” Hall, age 93, of Hockessin, DE, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

Born in Wilmington, DE on June 20, 1925, he was a son of the late James E. and Edna M. (Orth) Hall. Harry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class USNR on the USS Marquette. He also served as a Civil Air Patrol Cadet on the SS ESSO Montpelier. After his service, Harry worked as a firefighter in the City of Wilmington at Gilpin Avenue – Station 6, Union St. – Station 5 and Station 1, retiring after more than 20 years. He also retired from Ames Tapping Tools. Later in life, Harry enjoyed spending time at the Howard Weston Senior Center and Mid-County Senior Center. He also attended First Alliance Church in Hockessin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles Hall. Harry is survived by his wife of 71 years, Thelma E. (Wahl) Hall; children, Robert Hall (Thelma), Joyce Marando (Scott), Diane Edwards (Cullen); daughter-in-law, Jill Hall; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
