Harvey Ellison “EL” Smith

Harvey Ellison Smith, age 84, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017.
A lifelong Delaware resident, Mr. Smith was born in Wilmington, DE on October 21, 1932, and was the son of the late Harvey Fooks Smith, Jr. and Dorothy (Ellison) Smith. He made his career as a chemist with DuPont, retiring after many years of dedicated employment at the company’s Newport site.
A man of strong faith in the Messiah, Mr. Smith was a longtime member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Wilmington and attended Beth Yeshua. Active in the performing arts community, he was a member of the Wilmington Drama League and The Brandywiners for 63 years. Mr. Smith was a beloved father and friend and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his sons, John Brady Smith of New Castle and Ryan William Smith (and wife Debbie) of Bear.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 1108 N Adams Street, Wilmington, DE, followed by a reception at the church.

Good morning, my deep condolences to the Family of Mr. Harvey Ellison ( EL) Smith. I had the pleasure of sitting in the Church for the Celebration life of Mr. Smith and it was truly an Honour and a privilege being at the Service. God bless the Family and may God keep you in his care for a lifetime.
