Helen M. Everett

Helen M. Everett, known affectionately as Nana to family and friends, age 91, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2013.
Born in Green Mountain, NC on September 15, 1922, Helen was the daughter of the late Clayton R. McCourry and Gertrude Bradshaw McCourry. She made her career with the Sears and Roebuck Company, where she worked as a salesperson at the Price’s Corner location for 25 years, retiring in 1986.
Helen was a longtime member of the Women of the New Castle Moose’s Lodge. She loved going to dances and enjoyed sewing. A devoted and adoring wife, mother, and grandmother, Helen will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald E. Everett, who passed away in 2000. Helen is survived by her daughter, Nancy Simon and husband David; sister, Mildred Mullikin; granddaughters, Kimberly Keller and Cynthia Keller; great grandson, Michael Knorr; and great granddaughter, Alyssa Knorr.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, December 13, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where friends may call from 12 Noon until 1 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
