HELEN M. “NANA” NOST

Died June 6, 2014

Mrs. Helen M. Nana Nost, age 66, of Port Penn, DE, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2014, at the Seasons Hospice In-Patient Unit at Christiana Hospital in Newark.

Helen was born in Wilmington, DE, on July 31, 1947 to the late Frank Keskemety, Jr. and Helen M. Walker Keskemety.  She had worked for the State of Delaware (DSCYF) at RTC in Middletown, DE, where she was named ˜employee of the year’ in 2003.  Helen was also the owner and operator of Kelly’s Tavern in Port Penn.  She enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren.  She always loved getting together and traveling with her special friends Nancy, Dot, Barb, Mary Anne, Norma, Patty, Betsy, Susie, and Amanda.  Helen was a member of various clubs which included: the St. Anthony’s Club and St. Gabriel’s Club in New Castle, Delaware City Recreation Club, Mid County Women’s Club, and the Port Penn Historical Society.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, A.J. Biggie Nost; daughter, Kelly A. Nost of Port Penn; cousin, Charles Keskemety and his wife, Bev of Bear; and grandchildren, David, Sean and Adrian.

Funeral service and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Silver Lake Treatment Center, c/o Amanda Coker, 493 E. Main Street, Middletown, DE  19709.

  • Helen was a mother figure to the kids at our treatment center, and some of us staff too! Her love and care was unmatched. She leaves behind a wake of love, blessing, and yes, pain. It’s the type of heart ache that can only come from missing an unreplaceable presence in one’s life. The pain is the only thing that will in time subside.   • Biggie and family, I’m so very sorry for the loss of Helen, she was one of the sweetest people I ever knew, so talented not to mention beautiful. She will be sadly missed by a lot of people.
