Helen V. (Ruffin) Douglas, age 80, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.

Born in Prince Georges, VA on August 18, 1935, Helen was the daughter of the late John and Elvira Reagan. She made her career with the City of New York where she worked as a field associate for the Office of Housing Preservation and Development.

A woman of strong faith, Helen was a devout Jehovah’s Witness for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling in her leisure time. A devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, Helen will be very dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Steven Ruffin and daughter-in-law Sharon of Middletown, DE, Karen Douglas of Brooklyn, NY and Kevin Douglas of Amherst, VA; brother, Herman Ruffin and sister-in“law Barbara of Brooklyn NY, 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday afternoon, March 2016, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where friends may call from 12 Noon until 1 pm. Interment will be private.
