Herbert E. Andersen, Jr., age 80, of Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2016.

Born in Trenton, NJ on September 9, 1935, Herb was the son of the late Herbert E. Active in his community, he volunteered his time as a youth baseball coach with the Babe Ruth Baseball League and the Wilmington Little League for many years.  Herb was a champion tennis player and enjoyed the many hours he spent at the Rodney Street courts in his youth.  In his leisure time, he looked forward to a good round of golf with friends.  Herb was a 45 year member of the Cavaliers Country Club where he made many happy memories.  He was also an avid poker player and enjoyed horse racing at Delaware Park.  A man of strong faith, he was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. John the Beloved Church.  Above all else, Herb adored spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.  He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his twin sister, Kathleen Dunkelburger and his great niece, Sarah.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Ingrid R.
