Hilda (Haines) Abrams
Born June 23, 1918
Mrs. Hilda Haines Abrams, age 96, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, at Arbors Nursing Home in New Castle.
A native Delawarean, she was born in Wilmington, DE on June 23, 1918, the daughter of the late Herbert Haines and Helen Mae Moore Haines. Mrs. Abrams had been an assembly line worker for the Speakman Company and retired after 35 years of dedicated service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond; four sisters; 2 brothers; and a grandson.
Mrs. Abrams is survived by her stepchildren, Phyllis Thieleman (Joseph) of New Castle, DE, and Alva Abrams (Linda) of Lewes, DE; sister, Ruth Irvin of Dover, DE; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
The Abrams family would like to thank Arbors Nursing Home for their compassion and care for Mrs. Abrams during her stay there.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where family and friends may visit from 1 pm until 2 pm. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Phyllis, I am truly sorry for your loss. Hilda was an icon at Arbors and she will be missed tremendously.
We are sad but take comfort in knowing that she is at peace and is with her mom now, and that is what she has wanted for a while.
