Irma Vivienne Benson

Irma Vivienne Benson, age 90, of Ocean City, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 16, 2016.

Viv was born in 1925 on the island of Ocean City, NJ to the late John A. and Irma (Ironside) Thomas. She called Ocean City her home for most of her life and was a longtime member of the Ocean City Baptist Church where she was a member of the Golden Heirs. Viv gave of her time and talents by serving as a volunteer for the Ocean City Historical Museum and as past vice president of the Ocean City, NJ League of Women Voters. She enjoyed reading and studying history in her leisure time. Above all else, Viv was a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, John Thomas, Alan Thomas and Isabelle Slevin. Viv is survived by her children, Linda B. Titus (Dr. Paul) of Seaford, VA, A. Christopher Benson (Susan) of Marmora, NJ and Martha B. Oldach (Robert) of Landenberg, PA; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
Services and interment will be held privately.
