James J. Pribish

Mr. James J. Pribish, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Temple University Hospital.
Born in Shenandoah, PA, on June 19, 1938, Mr. Pribish was the son of the late James Pribish and Anna Petusky Pribish. He honorably served as a medic in the US Navy. Mr. Pribish was employed as a general foreman with Ametek Incorporated’s Haveg-Chemical Products Division, located in Marshallton.
A lover of nature and the outdoors, he was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Mr. Pribish was a proud fan of both the Phillies and Eagles. In his leisure time, he enjoyed spending time at his beach house in Chincoteague, VA. Mr. Pribish was an exceptionally hard worker, who throughout his long illness, never stopped fighting and never complained. His positive outlook was an inspiration to those around him. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pribish was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Joseph Honus, and sisters, Eleanor Kapec and Anna Marchunsky. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Josephine Melusky Pribish; children, Jodie Mellon, and husband, Michael of Tavares, FL, James Pribish and wife, Patricia of New Castle, and Jacklyn Sweetman of Newark; grandchildren, Nicole Marvel and Kent Marvel, Jr., Crystal and Madison Pribish, and Alissa and Tayler Sweetman; great grandchildren, Kaelynn, Shannon, and Lynx; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 10 am until Noon on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle. Interment will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Mr. Pribish’s name be made to, Second Chance, Temple University Chapter, c/o Pam Gleason, Treasurer, 275 Green St., Apt. 4M3, Beverly, NJ 08010.
