James William âJimâ Kwiatkowski
Mr. James William Kwiatkowski (Jim), age 61, of Newark, DE, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Christiana Hospital.
Born in Wilmington on September 28, 1948, Mr. Kwiatkowski was a 1967 graduate of Christiana High School and would go on to serve his country proudly in the US Air Force. A gifted mechanic, he began his civilian career with DelTech Engineering, Inc, where he worked for 10 years. For the past 23 years, he was employed as a senior refrigeration mechanic in the HVAC department at the University of Delaware.
An avid and knowledgeable outdoorsman, Mr. Kwiatkowski relished a rugged, active life. He was a talented hunter and fisherman and excelled in shooting sports. He particularly enjoyed working on his country home, which he christened The Hilltop, in Tioga County, PA. He was also an exceptional amateur photographer and counted among his favorite subjects his beloved family, with whom he delighted in spending time.
He was preceded in death by his father, William James Kwiatkowski. He is survived by his mother, Tessie Rodowicz Kwiatkowski; siblings, Patricia Myers, Mary Sanders (Jim), Kathy Jamison (Lee), Terri Dalecki (Steve); and Bill Kwiatkowski (Pamela); and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and a great nephew.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday, April 5, 2010, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to charity of the donors choice or to Tri-State Bird Rescue, 110 Old Possum Hollow Road, Newark, DE 19711.
