Mrs. Janet Ann Angelo, age 83, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.

Born in Minersville, PA on August 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Susan (Polny) Lazarski.  She was a devoted, gentle, caring person who enjoyed cooking, reading, and above all, spending time with her cherished family.  Mrs. Angelo was a longtime member of St. John’s-Holy Angels Parish.  Mrs. Angelo retired after 25 years of dedicated service as a cook for the Margaret S. Sterk School and Downes Elementary School.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur J. Angelo, Jr.; and sister, Dorothy C. Sholansky.  She is survived by her children, Michael A. Angelo (Linda) of Rehoboth Beach, DE, James Angelo of Newark, DE, Arthur K. Angelo (Erika) of Newark, DE and Karen Angelo of Elkton, MD; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE.  Mass of Christian Burial with follow at 11:30 am in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church,  E. Main and N. Chapel Streets, Newark.
