Janet W. Archer, age 64, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2015.
Born in Somerville, NJ on May 30, 1950, Janet was a daughter of the late Jack E. Walker and Jessie (Moss) Walker. After a long career with the DuPont Company, she accepted a position with Boyd’s Flowers where she worked part time during her retirement. Additionally, Janet was the co-owner of Kathy’s Corner Shop in North East, MD for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton C. Archer, Jr.; and brother, Jack Walker. Janet is survived by a brother, Jerry Walker of Newark; sister, Jill Williams (Brad) of New Castle; nephew, Marshall Williams of New Castle.
A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday evening, May 20, 2015, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 300 E. Basin Road, New Castle, DE. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Janet’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Dept. of Delaware, PO Box 407, Camden, DE 19934.

Janet was a good friend to me at a time when I really needed one…I knew her through Kathy Roff and we had some good times together. She was very spiritual, gentle and kind. I am sorry I cannot attend the service – I will miss her but know she’s in a better place!
