Jean Ann Jones

Mrs. Jean Ann (Soltow) Jones, age 83, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013. She was the youngest and the last living of eight children born to the late Harold William Soltow and Eugenia Hartshorn Soltow.
Born in Newark, NJ, Mrs. Jones lived most of her life in Delaware. She was employed by the New York Central Railroad, Pitney Bowes, and Foulk Road Labs. She was a very loving and devoted mother who always put the needs of her children and family first. A woman of great strength and courage, she overcame many challenging medical conditions over the years.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Linda Racz and husband, Joseph; her son, Norman Hickey, who was her caregiver and with whom she lived; many nieces and nephews; and the beloved family dachshund, Stefan.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank Soltow, Robert Soltow, Charles Soltow, and Joseph Soltow; and by three sisters, Zella Sinninger, Ruth Stevens, and Margaret Talley.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 12th, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who wish to honor Mrs. Jones’ memory make a contribution to a local food bank or perform an act of kindness for someone in need.

I have somethings to say, which I am going to say at your service as hard as it may be, I’m going to do it. I know you will be there with me and my children as you have always been,so I hope to do it without breaking down. You know how much we love, as you love us. Give my Dad and Samantha a hug for us. I will see you on Saturday. I am already having dreams about you, which tells me you are here! I love you, I don’t know how I am going to do it without you, but I know you are with me all the way, just like you’ve always been. “Between me, and you and the lamppost” We love. Caron
