  • “Jer Bear”

Words can not express how beyond deeply saddened I am. I am at a complete loss for words. We had formed a bond like no other and for that I am truly grateful. Your bright enlightening smile and contagious laugh will be missed by all. I will forever cherish our memories. Sending hearts and prayers to the Werkheiser family.

  • What a handsome photo this is, but it does not measure up to the beauty of his heart. Jeremy affected my life in such a positive way. As a teacher, I was not suppose to have favorites but certain students touched my heart and taught me more than I could ever have taught them. Jeremy was that student. He taught me to see the strength of the human spirit. He challenged me to see that not being able to speak doesn’t mean you have nothing to say. Jeremy had PLENTY to say. His brilliance was in his ability to size up any person and draw them into his world. Best of all was his tremendous sense of humor ( which I have always felt was the supreme intelligence). He showed anger, determination, humility and most importantly held a true zest for life. I feel so fortunate to have known him and will keep him forever in my heart.
I am praying for the family as you grieve, and hope you find peace in the wonderful human being you shaped and shared with the world to make it a much better place. Thank you!

  • Dear Steve and Family, I would like to express how sorry I am for your loss. I had the privilege of transporting Jeremy back and forth to the Leach school on Bus 101 last year and the beginning of this school year. Jeremy was a pleasure to be with. He often would say, “Bye Bye”, as we got close to your house. It was also a pleasure to know you and Jeremy’s brother. You and your family will be in my prayers.
