Joan H. O’Sullivan
Mrs. Joan H. OSullivan, age 82, of Newark, DE, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at her home.
Mrs. OSullivan was born in Newark, NJ, on March 23, 1929, daughter of the late Edward J. Horn and Marie Kissane Horn. A devoted and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she delighted in caring for her family; her family was truly her life and she was always at her happiest when in their company.
Mrs. OSullivan was a talented homemaker throughout her life and looked forward each year to designing and planting the lovely flower gardens around her home. She also enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, and cheering for her favorite teams, the Phillies and the Eagles.
A devout Catholic, she was a longtime member of Holy Angels parish.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert E. OSullivan, Sr., with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 1st; children, Colleen OSullivan of Springfield, VA, Robert E. OSullivan, Jr. (Penelope) of Stratham, NH, and Mary Beth Jones of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Nicholas M. Cope (Sarah Chase), Penelope M. OSullivan, Robert T. Jones, and Kathleen L. Jones.
Visitation will be held from 7 pm to 9 pm on Friday, October 7, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Holy Angels R.C. Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
