Joane C. Skammer
January 23, 1935 - April 16, 2014
Joane C. Skammer, age 79, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Frances and daughter, Wendy. Joane is survived by her husband, David Skammer; sister: Catherine; daughter, Christine Blevin (Robert); son, Timothy Skammer (Amy); granddaughters, Alicia, Elizabeth, Sara and Madeleine; grandsons, William and Samuel; and a host of relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Wednesday morning, April 23, 2014 at St. Margaret of Scotland R.C. Church, 2431 Frazer Rd., Newark, DE. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Quilts for Comfort, 12 Aldershot Drive, Newark, DE 19713.

Chris, I am so very sorry about your mother. I remember a long conversation with her at your house a couple of years ago. Though I did not know her well, I could see a lot of you in her. I know she will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.

So sorry to read about your mom, Tim. Condolences to Amy, Sara and Sam as well. Many fond memories at family functions but the best day with Joane was at Tower Beach! Oh we sure laughed a lot and shared many stories that day. She will be missed.
