Joanne Lorraine Kwiatkowski

Joanne Lorraine Kwiatkowski, age 62, of Middletown, DE passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware on January 26, 1951, Joanne was the daughter of Ray Alvin Bud Marion and Anna Mabel Rhoades Marion. She was a devoted homemaker and caretaker to her family.

A creative person by nature, Joanne enjoyed crafts of all kinds, and especially enjoyed sewing. She loved spending time in her pool, where she liked to relax and read. Known affectionately as Grandma Jo, she adored spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Joanne will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bud. Joanne is survived by her beloved husband, W. Robert Bob Kwiatkowski; mother, Anna, of Middletown, DE; daughter, Suzanne Hay (Travis) of Middletown, DE; son, Dave Kwiatkowski (Susan) of Middletown, DE; brothers, David Marion (Joyce) of Grand Terrace, CA, Dennis Marion (Nancy) of Fort Collins, CO, and Jeff Marion (Karen) of Newark, DE; 7 grandchildren, Madison, Melanie, Cameron, Sydney, Ethan, Gabby, and Carter; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm. Interment will be private.

  • Joanne you were such a special person. I feel very fortunate to have had you as a part of my life. Growing up across the street from you and building a long lasting relationship with Suzie just made my childhood. I loved coming over (daily) and spending time in your home. I still have the clown that you made me so many years ago. I will cherish that forever. You will be greatly missed. Bob, Suzie, and David, my heart goes out to you all. Know that she is looking down upon all of you and will be with you forever.
