7 Condolences for Johanna E. (Shivone) Cullen

  • Thank you Aunt Johanna and Uncle Freddy for the memory of the hot summer days spent swimming in your pool. Your kindness and generosity will always be remembered.

    Requiescat in pace.

  • Cheryl and Joe, we send our heartfelt condolences. We enjoyed meeting Johanna and getting to know her at parties at your house. Her cheesescake and cookies were the best. She was a kind and gentle person. May she rest in peace.

  • My thoughts and prayers go out to Ms. Johanna’s family. She was a wonderful lady and certainly a gifted baker. But her baking was so much more. At Sacred Heart Village, her baking brought people together and helped to create a sense of community. She is dearly loved at Sacred Heart Village and will be deeply missed. I will always remember her kindness and generosity.

  • Dearest family, I am saddened by the passing of Johanna. She was such a wonderful influence in my life as I was growing up. My memories are full of love for her and all of you. We will not be able to make the trip from North Carolina to be with you all tomorrow but know that our thoughts and love are with you. (Aunt) Dolores

  • Aunt Johanna was a wonderful loving woman that was always smiling. She was always happy to see family and could not wait to feed you!! Her “cookies” are infamous. My fondest childhood memories are spending afternoons swimming and enjoying the Cullen hospitality. My sincere condolences to her family, she will be sorely missed.

  • Dear Family, I have the best memories of “Aunt” Johanna from when I worked at the Cantina behind the bar. She was such a loving and warm person and the BEST cook in the world. For those of us who worked on Sundays we would all come in early because she ALWAYS served us the finest meal with all the trimmings before we started our shifts. We had a true sense of family as we all joined at the table and discussed just about everything (ok, we also did a little gossiping about those who weren’t present, haha) as we enjoyed the finest meals in the world. She was so gracious, and beautiful inside and out, and how did she stay so damn thin??? I just adored her! So sorry she had Alzheimers, I did not know. My father passed away from complications of Alzheimers and I can imagine the suffering her own family went through. I will always cherish her memory. All my sympathy, Annie Remley ( now Harris)

  • I miss you aunt Johanna , you made the best damn cookies ever!! I love you.
