John J. âJackâ Schnepp
Mr. John J. Jack Schnepp, age 85, of Newark, DE, formerly of Brigantine, NJ, died on Monday, June 28, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at Heartland Hospice House in Wilmington, DE.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on July 13, 1924, Mr. Schnepp was the son of the late Francis J. Schnepp and Alice G. Curran Schnepp. He proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II, and, following his honorable discharge from military duty, would go on to receive his bachelors degree from LaSalle University. He later earned his MFA from the Catholic University of America.
Mr. Schnepp made his career with the RCA Corporation in Cherry Hill, NJ, where he retired as public relations director in 1987. A devout Catholic, he was a dedicated member of Holy Family parish in Newark, DE. In his leisure hours, he greatly enjoyed watching favorite movies and reading on a wide variety of subjects.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances M. Schnepp. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Liz Brennen Schnepp; daughters, Jacqueline S. Allman (Matthew) of Bel Air, MD, and Elizabeth S. Detor (Lucas) of London, UK; and grandchildren, Eric H. Allman, Victoria F. Allman, Samantha R. Detor, Jessica E. Detor, and Addison M. Detor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, DE, 19713, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will be held privately.
