Joseph G. Bergeron, age 63, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017.

A native Delawarean, Joseph was born in Wilmington on April 7, 1954, and was the son of the late Emile E. and Regina (Wilson) Bergeron. He was a graduate of Salesianum School and later made his career as a computer technician at CSC.

Joseph enjoyed historic buildings, especially in Olde New Castle, where he eventually moved in 2014. He enjoyed photography, theater, anything Disney, and volunteered at the Everett Theatre in Middletown. In his leisure time, he was an avid reader and enjoyed the beach. A beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Joe will be dearly missed by all.

He is survived by his brother, Edward Bergeron (Linda); niece, Suzanne Olski (Joe); nephew, Brian Bergeron; and many cousins and friends. Joe was predeceased by a nephew, Ted Bergeron.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 214 Clinton Street, Delaware City, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Old Drawyers Cemetery, Odessa, DE.

  • I met Joe in the 70’s, we had an amazing relationship. Despite leaving the area, I had the opportunity to see him from time to time. He always remained the same friendly, interesting person I first met. I tried to reconnect with him on Facebook and never heard from him. I regret I didn’t reach out to him sooner. I feel sorry he’s gone, my condolences to his family.
