Kathleen B. Gallo “Kathy”

March 9, 1960 - February 10, 2016

Kathleen B. Gallo, age 55, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.

A native Delawarean, Kathy was born in Wilmington on March 9, 1960, and was the daughter of the late Harold and Betty A. (LeGates) Blair. She attended St. Mark’s High School, graduating in 1978.

A loving wife and mother, Kathy devoted herself to raising her family and was a talented homemaker. She was well known for her crafting ability and enjoyed gardening. Kathy adored summertime and looked forward to spending time outdoors fishing and swimming. An avid animal lover, she cherished her pets. Kathy was happiest in the company of her family and will be very dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Andrew L. Gallo; daughters, Katie (Hall) Leonard and husband, Matthew of Christiana, DE and Amie (Hall) McLaughlin and husband, Kyle of Townsend, DE; brother, Donald Blair of Lewes, DE; and 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016, at the Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.

Kathy was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Payton Samantha McLaughlin Education Fund, c/o Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720.

  • To a very dear friend who I meant in 2006; Kathleen you were ( as long as I’ve known you ) to be so FULL of the sunshine that you craved.And you brought that same beauty into the lives of the people you encountered. May you now enjoy the FULL JOY of being in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ throughout eternity! I will always love you….Randy

  • Such great memories of days gone by when my wife Lori (McCrone) was at Saint Marks High School with Cathy; going to the movies and a trip together to Ocean City, Maryland were highlights. She was such a sweet friend. Even though we moved away shortly after those high school days, the both of us enjoyed our time with her then, both of us will miss her now.
