Kathy R. Speakman
Mrs. Kathy R. Speakman, age 60, of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012
A native Delawarean, Mrs. Speakman was born in Wilmington on January 26, 1952, daughter of the late Raymond L. Ewing and Carol Steimtling Holland. She made her career with the Superior Court of Delaware and Prothonotarys Office in Wilmington, where she retired as a senior court clerk.
Mrs. Speakman was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life with her family. A beloved wife and devoted mother, she delighted in spending time her family, especially her precious grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be long remembered by family and friends alike for her wonderful sense of humor and her incomparable gift for witty one-liners.
In her leisure hours, Mrs. Speakman greatly enjoyed working on her computer and testing her skills on such challenging computer games as Pogo.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bruce W. Speakman; children, Raymond W. Speakman and wife Melinda, Amanda K. Chullin, and Rebecca H. Speakman; a brother; two sisters; and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 4:30 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 500 W. Chestnut Hill Road, Newark, where visitation will begin at 3:30 pm.
