Kenneth A. Barrish

Kenneth A. Barrish, age 84, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.

Born in Cleveland, OH on September 22, 1929, Mr. Barrish was a son of the late Francis Barrish and Helen Faber Barrish. He bravely served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Barrish made his career as a hairdresser with the John Barrett Salon, located inside the famed Bergdorf Goodman department store in Midtown Manhattan, as well as Eight East Coiffures.

He possessed a deep appreciation for the arts, especially opera. A devoted and loving husband and father, Mr. Barrish adored spending time with his beloved family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Gallego Barrish and a brother, Francis Barrish. He is survived by his children, Kenneth F. Barrish of Pearl River, NY and Brenda V. Stroble of Newark, DE; brother, Dennis Barrish of Milwaukee, WI; and 3 grandchildren, Tessa, Aeryn, and Troy.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
