Kenneth D. Nobayashi, Sr.
Mr. Kenneth D. Nobayashi, Sr. (Kenny), age 62, of Middletown, DE, died on Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Christiana Hospital.
Born in New York City on May 20, 1948, Mr. Nobayashi made his career with the Chrysler Corporation, retiring from the Newark site as an inspector after 30 years of service. He was an avid sports fan throughout his life and enjoyed cheering for his favorite teams, the Eagles and the Phillies, and for his favorite NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed watching old movies and home improvement programs on televison.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he will be long remembered for his love for his family and his love for his country.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Diane Georgette Lewis Nobayashi; his daughter, Kimberly Nobayashi; his son, Kenny Nobayashi, Jr. and girlfriend, Becky Smith; his grandson, Andrew Adams, who was Pop Pops pride and joy; his sisters, Vera F. Natalie and Myrtie Ferri; his brothers, John Behringer and James Morgan; his godchildren, Jan Adams Weiss and husband, Scott, Heather Scott and fianc, Lonnie Donahue, Louie Lewis, David Lewis, and Nicky Yoder and husband, Leroy; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Leonard Bertucci.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
