Born January 27, 1948

Kenneth E. Scheidt, age 69, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Ken was born in Cincinnati, OH on January 27, 1948, and was the son of the late Eugene R. and Helen F. (Rineair) Scheidt. He worked at various locations as an over the road truck driver for 50 years.
Ken enjoyed NASCAR, was an avid motorcyclist, and a street rod enthusiast.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie G. (Moorman) Scheidt. Ken is survived by his sisters, Janet Saunders (Joe) and Joann Gross (Danny); niece, Lisa McAllister (Brian); nephew, Brian Gross (Heather); great nephew, Tayler McAllister; great nieces, Logan McAllister and Amanda and Hailey Gross. He is also survived by many cousins in Delaware, Ohio, and Chicago and his two loving aunts, Mary Brown and Betty Rineair.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation and thanks to the entire staff of Delaware Hospice for the exceptional care and support they provided.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday morning, September 1, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE, where a service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ken’s memory may be made to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
