  • My mother was the woman who gave birth to me. She was my first love in this world.

Mommy loved me and educated me. Mommy taught me how to trust, love and forgive. All of those things she taught me, she wanted me to demonstrate in my life time, with my children and I did to honor her always. Mommy was always there for me, and said, “It will be OK Dorothy Lynn, I love you”.

I learned that it would be OK, because she showed me how to control life. When my father abandoned us, I slept with my mother for 3 years until I was 14 years old. She made me safe and allowed me to become independent with kindness and grace.

I love my Mommy, and will live my life forward, always missing her and always wanting to be with her. She was quiet, kind, good, loving, sweet, funny, forgiving and beautiful. Love you Mommy! I miss you forever.

I will always be her Dorothy Lynn.

  • I am going to miss my sister, and our daily phone calls to each other every night before we went to bed.

When we were growing up my sister and I shared a bed and when she would come home from a date, and got ready for bed, she would always put her cold feet on mine, until I started to wear socks to bed.

We were always there for each other and she meant the world to me.

I love you my dear sister Laura.

    Love your sister Dorothy

  • I will truly miss my Aunt Laura.

I am glad we got to visit with her last month when my mom was down visiting from Vermont. It was nice seeing how my mom and Aunt Laura picked up right where they left off from their last visit. True sisterhood.

We will miss you, but we will always have our great memories.

    I love you!

    Love,
Dorothy Bernice, Joe, Nicholas and Marlena

  • I did not know you Mrs. Sowers, but I have had the opportunity over the past year to get to know your son, Bill through work. He is a wonderful man. I am sure he is such a great person because of the wonderful woman and role model you have been in his life. Sending love and prayers of comfort to the family.
