Lawrence David Losie

Lawrence David Losie, known fondly as “Larry”, age 65, of Newark, DE and formerly of Edgewood, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2014.

Larry was born in Chester, PA on May 20, 1949, and was a son of Lawrence Edward Losie and Eileen Mae Hargrave Losie. He was a member of the Brandywine High School graduating class of 1967 and went on to attend the University of Delaware where he received his degree in 1971, graduating with distinction. Larry made his career with the Department of Defense, where he worked for 27 years as an analyst specializing in ballistics research. He was a well-respected and dedicated employee, who was known for his excellent work ethic.

In his leisure time, Larry enjoyed watching baseball and had a keen interest for studying and following the sport’s statistics. He was an exceptionally caring individual who loved spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. Larry will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence. Larry is survived by his mother, Eileen; brother, Kenneth B. Losie; sister, Deborah C. Higgins and husband Thomas; cousins, Carolyn Vacek and Helen Holt; nephews, Joseph T. Higgins, Christopher J. Higgins and Brian D. Higgins; and a great nephew, Devin G. Higgins.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1 pm. Interment will be private.
