Leon B. “Cookie” Kucharski, Sr.

Leon B. Cookie Kucharski, Sr., age 82 , of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2015.
Born in Wilmington, DE on December 30, 1932, Leon was the son of the late Charles and Elsie Kucharski. Mr. Kucharski worked as a mechanic for ICI America, retiring after many years of dedicated employment.
In his liesure time, Leon enjoyed cooking and painting pictures of landscapes. Mr. Kucharski was a member of the Howard J. Weston Senior Center in New Castle. Above all else, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Kucharski. Mr. Kucharski is survived by his beloved wife, Lois A. (Marchalonis) Kucharski; children, Leon Kucharski (Elaine), Paul Kucharski, Billy Kucharski (Pattie) and Elaine Beardsley (John); 5 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Wednesday evening, September 23, 2015 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Services and interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Kucharski’s name may be made to Howard J. Weston Senior Center 1 Bassett Ave, New Castle, DE 19720.

  • We spent many fun times with Cookie and Lois. Went on cruises and had many get-togethers for fun and games. So glad we had lunch last month.
