Leota J. âLeeâ Koveleski
Mrs. Leota J. Lee Koveleski, age 84, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of New Castle passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Lee was born in Rhodesdale, MD on May 12, 1926 to the late Victor C. and Bertha M. (Eskridge) Coulbourn. In addition to being a homemaker and enjoying cooking and spending time with her beloved family, Lee was a talented seamstress and had worked for Hamilton Limited in Claymont, DE. She also made and donated quilts to the Veterans at the American Legion Auxiliary Post #28, where she was a member. Lee also enjoyed going to the beach, dancing, country music, watching NASCAR, playing the slots and was an avid Phillies Fan.
Lee is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Eugene A. Gene Koveleski; children, Donald E. Koveleski (Christine) of Pueblo, CO, Lorraine A. Sareyka (Jeff) of New Castle, DE, Marnita M. Koveleski (S.R. Smith) of Middletown, DE, and Victor A. Koveleski (KenniLynn) of Middletown, DE; brothers, Clinton, Harley, Jennings, and Levin Coulbourn; 11 grandchildren; two great grandsons; one granddaughter-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Lee was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Coulbourn; and sister, Lois Carey.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Patti of Delaware Hospice and to the Tunnell Cancer Center of Lewes.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle where friends may visit after 9:30 am. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Tunnell Cancer Center of Lewes, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958-0226.
