Lillian V. Zanolini
Mrs. Lillian V. Zanolini, age 81, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011, at Christiana Hospital.
Born on January 22, 1930 and raised in Tomhicken, PA, Lillian was the daughter of the late Lewis Rossi and Mildred Konschnik. She was a devoted mother and a talented and resourceful homemaker throughout her life. She was employed part time for the former MBNA in Newark for many years.
A devout Catholic, Lillian was an active member of Holy Family parish in Newark. In her leisure hours, she greatly enjoyed traveling, Homemakers Club, Bunco, quilting, trips to Delaware Park, and attending her familys annual reunions. She co-founded the Coal Cracker Reunion, an event which lasted 23 years.
Lillian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald A. Zanolini, in 1975, son, Donald R. Zanolini, in 1974, and five sisters, Mildred, Regina, Dolores, Violet, and Joan. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Marie Zanolini McGee (Patrick) of Anderson, SC, Anita Marie Zanolini Schwartz (Tyler) of Newark, DE, Tina Marie Zanolini Sala (Carlos) of Lafayette, CO, and Eva Marie Zanolini Foxwell (Jamie) of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren, Artie, Michael, James, Crystal, Lauren, Dalton, Donovan, Madison, Angelina, Regina, Isabella, and Lena; and great grandchildren, Codi, Heath, Calista, Kaelyn, Lil Artie, Colin, Lil James, Amelia, and Ava.
Family and friends meant everything to Lillian. She had a way of making everyone she touched feel special, and her smile added sunshine to their lives. Although we will miss her dearly, her spirit and love of life will carry on in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at the Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Holy Family, where visitation will begin at 10 am. A prayer service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 12, 2011, at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 87 S. Hunter Highway, Drums, PA, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 49 S. Hunter Highway (Rt. 309), Drums, PA.
