Linda Sue (Ramsey) Scott

Born August 16, 1950

Linda Sue (Ramsey) Scott, age 67, of Smyrna, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 27, 2017 after her battle with cancer.

A native Delawarean, Linda was born in Wilmington on August 16, 1950, and was the daughter of Clarence E. Ramsey, Sr. and Ruby (McDowell) Ramsey Figgatt. She was employed with Newark Dry Cleaners on Main Street for 17 years until the store’s closing.

Linda adored the beach, nature, and all living wild creatures. She will be remembered for going out of her way to make others happy. A loving and devoted daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother, Linda will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence, Sr. and brothers, Clarence E. Ramsey, Jr., Wayne Bruce Ramsey, Keith Figgatt, and Ronnie Figgatt. Linda is survived by her fiancé and partner of 30 years, Glenn Willoughby; mother, Ruby (McDowell) Ramsey Figgatt of Smyrna; children, Teresa Rampersad and husband, Sharma of Newark, Dawn Samis of Dover, and Jason Scott of Smyrna; grandchildren, Aubreana, Charles, Sara Elizabeth, Katharine, Jacob, and Emma; brothers, Jan Ramsey and Donny Figgatt (Mary-Jo); sister, Sue Tjaden (Doug); and sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Joanie Figgatt and Donna Willingham, who was also Linda’s best friend.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, September 2, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm. Interment will be held privately.

Linda is resting peacefully now with her brothers, father and other family along with many angels to watch over her. You continue being the Matriarch of this family and stand tall.
