LORETTA A. FAVRE
Born May 22, 1942
Loretta A. Favre, age 72, of New Castle, DE, passed away on August 30, 2014, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, surrounded by her loving family.
Loretta was born in Owasa, AL, on May 22, 1942 to John Zellers and Beatrice Zellers. She had worked in food service for the Colonial School District and retired after 33 years of dedicated service. Loretta was a long time member of the Berean Baptist Church in New Castle and a member of the Rosehill Community Center. Besides her passion for dancing and watching golf on television, she led a full life attending family gatherings with her beloved family. She was considered the glue that kept her family together.
Loretta is survived by her sons, Michael W. Favre of Smyrna, and James B. Favre (Bindy) of New Castle; mother, Beatrice George of New Castle; brother, Christy George (Shirley) of Leesburg, FL; 6 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Byron Lee Favre, who died in 2003; father, John Zellers; son, Anthony Lee Favre; and brother, Horace Zellers.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where family and friends may visit after 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
