Louis Reno, Jr.

Louis Reno, Jr., age 88, of Wilmington, DE and formerly of Long Neck, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2015.
Born in Piedmont, WV on April 7, 1926, Mr. Reno was the son of the late Louis Reno, Sr. and Christine DeDonato Reno. He bravely served his country during WWII as a member of the US Navy. Mr. Reno was a member of Teamster Local No. 326 and worked as a driver for Anchor Motor Freight until his retirement after many years of dedicated service.
A truly fantastic cook, he relished preparing delicious meals for his beloved family. Mr. Reno enjoyed fishing and crabbing in his leisure time. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Reno was preceded in death by his son, Steven A. Reno. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Marie D. Saragino Reno; children, Louis R. Reno,III (Patricia) of Wilmington, DE, Marlene West (Michael) of Georgetown, DE and Richard Reno of New Castle, DE; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday morning, January 15, 2015, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, c/o Vitas Health Care Corporation, 100 Commerce Drive, Ste. 302, Newark, DE 19713.

My heart goes out to Marie and the family. Lou was the best neighbor anyone could have. He looked after my mom’s place in Long Neck for many years and did so much for all of us. I have many great memories of that place, and Lou and Marie are in so many of them. He always made us laugh with all the stories he shared. I will remember him fishing and crabbing on the bay, waving to us on the shore, as he drove past in his boat. He truly loved it there, as we all did.
