Louisa J. Barbato

Louisa J. Barbato, age 90, of Wilmington and formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2018.
Born in New Castle, DE on December 8, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Michael F. and Filomena (Luciano) Barbato. Louisa dedicated her career as a sales person at Wilmington Dry Goods and retired in 1988 after 41 years of dedicated service.
Louisa was dedicated to her family and was the caregiver for many years to her ailing mother. She was also a member of Holy Spirit R.C. Church. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt and dear friend to many.
In addition to her parents, Louisa was preceded in death by her siblings, Adelina Barbato, Raphael F. Barbato, Sr., Mary Barbato Norris and Edna Barbato Giughlo. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Raphael F. Barbato, Jr., Michael Barbato, Charmayne McCaffery, Donna Norris-Grant, Judy Woerner, Maryanne Pupillo, Antonia Osman, Michelle Camponeli and Albert Giughlo.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Rd, New Castle, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Ave, Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louisa’s name to Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Rd, New Castle, DE, 19720.
