Luzie Ruth Tyler
On December 21, 2010, Luzie Ruth Weber Tyler, age 80, of New Castle, DE, passed away after a long bout with cancer.
Luzie was born on November 4, 1930, in Berlin, Germany. She immigrated to the United States in 1957, settling for a time in New York. After attending school to become a stewardess, she worked for the Flying Tigers and Capitol Airways for many years and was promoted to head stewardess. Following her marriage to Harvey Tyler, she retired from her career. They later divorced.
In later years, Luzie became very ill and struggled to be well. After a brave fight, she died her way–in her own home, not in a hospital. Luzie was always independent.
Luzie leaves behind her only sister and a step-sister, out of seven siblings who preceded her in death, as well as four nephews and four nieces, all of whom will miss her very much. She is also survived by the many friends with whom she worked and who were with her to the end and her neighbors who cared for her during her illness.
Services were held privately.
