11 Condolences for Madeline Elizabeth (Baker) Simpson

  • Madeline was not only my husbands sister but the only one I called sister, never sister-in-law. She taught me how to make chilli, tried to teach me how to play cards, I was never as sweet as Madeline, but I tried. We had wonderful vacations together. Lots and lots of memories. Against Bobs wishes I taught her to drive. When we surprised Bob with her license he was not happy. He told me if he didn’t love me so much he would really be mad, he got over it. We loved spending weekends with them in Clayton, singing for them in different churches when he preached. Madeline was our heart. Ralph and I can’t wait until we “catch up”. Until then so happy you were part of our lives. Thank you Bobby and Sandi for keeping your promise. Love, aunt Carol and uncle Ralph

  • No words can describe this wonderful woman. Peace to the family. Love, Marsha

  • Bobby and Sandi, So Sorry for your loss.Ray Gray

  • We love you, and yes we will miss her always…

  • Dear Family, I received a call from Kenny Graw of Aunt Madelines passing. The day before, I was going through things at my dads house, and found an old Wedding album of photos of Uncle Bob and Aunt Madelines wedding. I had never seen them before. The photos are beautiful. I was full of sadness to hear of her passing the next day. I used to spend my summers as a kid at their beautiful old house in Delaware City. I have always treasured my summers there with Uncle Bob, Aunt Madeline and my cousins Gail, Faith, Bobby and Marshall. They were very special times for me. I remember the wonderful meals Aunt Madeline would make in that big kitchen of hers. She was the sweetest women I think I’ve ever known. She always has a kind word for everyone, and always wore a beautiful smile on her face. I remember her sparkling laughter. I live a long way from Delaware now, and have not seen my northern family for some time. I also speak for my sisters, Marsha and Lisa when I say that, I am so sorry for your loss, and my heart, thoughts and prayers are with you. I will be sending a contribution to the Associations mentioned above. Pamela Mulvaney and family.

  • So sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  • Under any circumstance the passing of one very dearly beloved is heart-breaking. To all of you, who were and are yet my family, very special gratitude and enduring thankfulness to you Dad for this, my very deepest condolences. Many, many are the fond moments that I will cherish of your Mom–singing quietly as she picked wild strawberries in the backyard at Delaware City, singing cheerfully as she tended her oven meal of green beans and ham casserole in the cold kitchen, that special joyous gleam in her eyes the night of your Dad’s pastoral ordination. The list goes on. I may not get there tomorrow, but I will be walking beside you all in heart and in spirit to comfort, to support, to love. May her spirit now rest in our Father, and may His peace enshroud you all.

  • So very sorry for your loss but it is also a new beginning and she is with your Dad now.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family,
    Love, Yvette and Dennis
