Marcia Anne Burns, age 72, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 26, 2016.

A lifelong Delawarean, Marcia was born in Wilmington on February 10, 1944, and was a daughter of the late Joseph, Jr. and Hattie (Brzoska) Balinski. Marcia graduated from Newark High School in 1962. Marcia was a beloved wife, loving mother, and adoring mommom. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, home and family business. Doing so was the very heart and soul of who she was and it was truly her life’s work. Her legacy of kindness, grace and love will live on forever.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, John W. Burns, Jr.; children, John W. Burns III (Andrea), Marcia A. Boswell and Thomas J. Burns; grandchildren, John W. Burns IV and Maddison Anne and Jenna May Boswell; siblings, Joseph Balinski III, Sandra Garrett and Susan Balinski; and her faithful canine companion, Bailey.

The Family would like to acknowledge and thank Thomas Burns for his lifelong commitment to his mother’s care during her illness. Special thanks to Seasons Hospice Aides and Nurses.

Services and burial will be held privately at the New London Cemetery, New London, PA.
