Margaret B. Markey, age 89, of Lewes, DE, formerly of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013.
A native Delawarean, Mrs. Markey was born in Wilmington on October 8, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph Wilson and Ellen M. Colton Wilson. Her husband, Alexander A. Markey, Sr., passed away in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, James M. Markey. She is survived by her sons, Robert A. Markey and wife Violet Ann and James M. Markey and wife Jane E., all of Lewes; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and 2 step great granddaughters.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 27, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will be held privately in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington.
