Margaret F. MacQueen

Margaret F. MacQueen, née Margaret Luckey Farrell, age 98, of Newark, DE passed away on October 1, 2016, at her residence.
Born in Trenton, NJ on December 24, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Barbara (Theurer) Farrell. Mrs. MacQueen graduated from Trenton High School in 1935 and Mercer Hospital School of Nursing in 1938. She worked as a registered nurse at the Industrial Accident Hospital in Trenton, NJ under her mother, the director of nursing, until she married Joseph A. MacQueen in 1941.
Active in her community, Mrs. MacQueen was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Valley Forge, PA and the Historical Societies of Philadelphia, Montgomery and Mercer Counties and was a well recognized genealogist. She was an avid reader of history, pinochle and aggravation player, and crossword puzzler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John MacQueen, in 1944 and husband, Joseph A. MacQueen, Sr. in 2004. Mrs. MacQueen is survived by her children, Joseph A. MacQueen, Jr. (Nancy) of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Peggy J. Biehl (L Charles) of North East, MD; grandsons, Joshua and Jared Biehl; step grandchildren, Chelsea Witt, (Jason) and Sean Crotty (Alejandra); step great grandchildren, Alexa, Briana, Amy, and Jaxon.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 143 Dickinson Lane, Wilmington, DE 19807 from 9:30 until 10:00 am followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, 870 Centre Street, Trenton, NJ 08611.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to All Paws Feral Good Samaritan Fund, 1098 Principio Furnace Road, Perryville, MD 21903.

My heartfelt condolences to the MacQueen family. I did not know Margaret personally but I understand how hard a time like this can be. May our Heavenly Father, who is the God of all comfort, give you the strength and comfort that you need (2 Corinthians 1:3). Our Heavenly Father understands your pain because he too has experienced the death of his beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Just as God resurrected his Son, he yearns to resurrect our loved ones as well (Job 14:14,15). I hope these words give you the comfort and peace you need during this difficult time.
