Margaret L. Boyle, age 85, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2017.

Born in Pottstown, PA on September 4, 1931, Peggy was the daughter of the late George and Agnes (Yeager) McElroy. She was a graduate of Coventry Pottstown High School in Pennsylvania. Peggy made her career as an underwriter with Chase Manhattan Bank, retiring in 1993 after many years of dedicated service.

She adored spending time with her family and looked forward to catching up with her high school friends at their monthly lunches. An avid gardener, Peggy relished being outdoors and tending to her beautiful flowers. A devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be remembered as a woman of class and grace, for her strong Christian faith, and for her warm and infectious smile.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her son, Terry Moyer; sister, Gladys Landis; brother, John Wade; and 3 grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Thomas E. Boyle; children, Diane Weinhold (Barry, Sr.) of Boyertown, PA, Scott Moyer (Teresa) of Morgantown, PA, Michele Schlegel (Terry) of Douglassville, PA, Thomas Boyle (Shirley) of Norristown, PA, Tish Boyle of Philadelphia, PA, Tim Boyle of Blue Bell, PA, and Carol Costello of Philadelphia, PA; siblings, Barb Lilley, Nancy Nicholas, Carol Dunn, and Richard Wade; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday morning, May 5, 2017 at the Ogletown Baptist Church, 316 Red Mill Road, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at 2:30 pm in Calvary Cemetery, 199 Old Gulph Rd., Conshohocken, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, 100 W. 10th St., Ste 1015, Wilmington, DE 19801.

  • I am sorry for our loss. To me she was Ant Peg always happy and their if you needed to talk. She was a great help to my sister and would keep me informed about family matters. I was glad to see her at Bob and Barb,s anniversary. I know see is going to great place, where see will see her mother and my mother her sister. Debi and I will truly miss her.   • Peg was joy to know. She was always impeccably dressed at church and was rich in meaningful conversation. She will truly be missed by my mother, Jean Renn, and me. Mother spoke with her often by phone, finding many common areas of discussion. Peg was always ready with a laugh and was a real “classy lady”. Rest in peace dear Peg.
