Margery “Marge” Tackett
January 6, 1936 - August 2, 2018
Margery “Marge” Tackett, age 82, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 2, 2018.
Born in Pikeville, Kentucky on January 6, 1936, she was 1 of 8 children to the late Berry and Polly Ann (Sloan) Parker. Marge was a talented and loving homemaker that dedicated her life to caring for her family.
Marge was a very strong willed woman who had the patience of a saint. She was as a hard worker with a huge loving heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. An animal lover, Marge had a special place in her heart for stray animals. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to many.
In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer C. Tackett; son, Paul “Ed” Tackett; and 6 siblings. She is survived by her children, Pamela Harter, Deborah Porta (Kip) and Brenda L. Tackett; sister, Gypsey Coleman; many grand and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 pm until 1 pm on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE followed by a funeral service at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your mom. Your mom was a beautiful woman inside and out and she will be missed by so many. You and her family were her world and she yours. I know her passing is a tremendous loss and I’m praying for peace and comfort for you. Pam &Brenda so sorry to hear of your mother passing. Not sure if you remember me when you came to aunt Josies me and marge would spend time with each other even after Jr and I separated.. your mom was a very special lady. Everything they wrote was so true. Always there for all. All I have to say is TO KNOW HER WAS TO LOVE HER. RIP beautiful lady.
